A new diagnostic imaging facility is set to open in Guelph, offering a range of medical imaging services. The facility, Frontier Diagnostics, will be located at 649 Scottsdale Dr. and is set to open on February 17th. Bookings are now being accepted online for x-rays, bone mineral density tests, ultrasounds, and mammograms. The facility is designed to provide a convenient and accessible location for residents of Guelph to access these essential medical services.
Frontier Diagnostics is a nearly 5,000 square foot facility, with five radiologists, three technologists, and two front desk workers on staff to begin. The facility is located on the ground floor of the building, providing easy access for patients. The quick construction of the facility, which began in October, is a testament to the dedication of the owners to providing a much-needed service to the community.
"We all know how resource-strapped our healthcare resources are, so having some kind of an investment into the Guelph community is a good thing," said Dr. Zafir Syed, a diagnostic radiologist and one of the five owners. "We want to ensure that the services we offer are of the highest quality and that we are meeting the needs of our patients."
The facility is designed to accommodate expansion in the future, but the owners want to ensure that the services being offered from the start are taken care of first. "We have gotten requisitions, and actually this week, we just started calling patients and getting them booked so it’s been fairly busy from what we’re hearing," said Dr. Syed.
When it comes to wait times, patients usually don’t wait long for x-rays. Frontier is accepting patients for x-rays on a walk-in basis. However, wait times for ultrasounds and mammograms in Ontario can be an issue. "The delays can vary because of tests, so they can go from weeks to months and depending on how busy it gets or what time of the year, and what year it actually is," said Dr. Syed. "We are working to minimize these delays and ensure that our patients receive the care they need in a timely manner."
Dr. Syed added that wait times for ultrasounds at Frontier are currently about a week. He loves the location because it is right next to the Guelph Family Health Team, a medical lab, and many other healthcare resources, all in one spot. "We’re very excited to be part of the community, and we’re excited to work with all the physicians and allied healthcare services in the community," said Dr. Syed. "We want to ensure that our patients have access to the best possible care and that we are meeting their needs."
If anyone has inquiries, Frontier’s radiologists are available to answer questions. The facility is committed to providing high-quality care and ensuring that patients have access to the services they need. "We are dedicated to providing the best possible care to our patients and ensuring that they have access to the services they need. We are excited to be a part of the Guelph community and to work with all the physicians and allied healthcare services in the community," said Dr. Syed.
