Once located, the hurt eagle was taken to a nearby wildlife rehabilitation center, where medical professionals performed X-rays on its wing. The troubling results revealed that the eagle had been shot with a ball bearing, highlighting the perilous situations these magnificent birds can face.
Following surgery, the medical team successfully removed the ball bearing, allowing the eagle to begin its recovery process at the rehab facility. While it is heartening that the bird is receiving care, it serves as a stark reminder that harming bald eagles is a serious offense.
